In Jerusalem, the new life of the old railway station ![]() If the Jaffa Railway Station from where Olcott and El Kalem does not exist anymore, the way of railway joined Jerusalem follows the same path through Lod, Ramla and the hills of Jerusalem. A journey of about an hour and a half to travel less than 90 km. Arrival is in a new station south of Jerusalem, about ten kilometers from the old town. The old station which led to Hebron Road, less than a kilometer from the walls, was long abandoned.
June 2014, the station of Jerusalem has changed. It was renovated as that of Jaffa. She is now a fashionable place with shops, restaurants, souvenir shops... There are some pictures that evoke the days when Olcott frequented places... The main difference with the Jaffa Railway Station : the name of Jerusalem appears in Hebrew gable of the building, below in Latin and Arabic scripts. Abandoned after the creation of Israel, Jaffa Railway Station was not called in Hebrew. | The leaving of Jerusalem station in 1896.
